Marcelle Reinecke is an artist who lives and works in Portland, ME. She is figurative painter who employs a wide variety of materials and techniques to create colorful scenes of ordinary life. Reinecke earned her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and her BFA in Studio Painting and Art History was received from the Insalaco College of Creative and Performing Arts at Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Additionally, she spent time abroad studying painting and sculpture at Studio Art College International in Florence, Italy. She completed an artist residency at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland awarded by the Glasgow School of Art in conjunction with the Royal Drawing School. Reinecke is a former member and curator at Automat Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. She is an experienced Studio Assistant with a demonstrated history of working in the design industry. Reinecke also has an extensive background as a woodworker and furniture maker, currently working for Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers in Auburn, ME.
